Panama – Italy Treaty Visa
The visa for Italian citizens was created in Law 15 of 1966 – called the Friendship, Business, and Navigation treaty between the Republics of Panama and Italy – with the objective to encourage Italians to establish economic and professional activities in Panama.
This treaty also allows Italians the freedom to conduct business in Panama and apply for a work permit. This is an indefinite permanent visa leading to Panamanian citizenship after five years.
Benefits of the Panama-Italy Visa
This visa offers numerous benefits for Italian citizens. For example, the applicant’s spouse and dependents do not have to be Italian citizens to be included in the application. This process also facilitates obtaining a Panamanian ID card. Finally, this visa does not require an initial investment or the purchase of property in Panama.
Furthermore, Italian citizens who obtain this visa enjoy a special status that allows them to integrate more easily into Panamanian society. They have access to the same rights and benefits as Panamanian citizens, including access to public health services and education.
The visa also encourages cultural and commercial exchange between both nations, strengthening the bilateral relationship and promoting mutual economic development. Italians residing in Panama under this visa contribute to the country’s cultural diversity, enriching the community with their unique traditions and experiences.
In short, the Panama-Italy Treaty Visa is an open door for Italian citizens wishing to settle in Panama, offering a clear path to integration and a solid foundation for developing a prosperous life in the country.
